書名 The name of the story
T: What’s the name of the story book?
S: The name of the story book is “Ben’s Pet Hen.”
(一開始學生說得不完整,不流利,於是老師要問一次。)
T: Say it again.
S: The name of the story book is “Ben’s Pet Hen.”
(小朋友說得比較好,但是語調和節奏仍舊不夠自然;因此,老師再教導訓練他們。)
T: Ben’s Pet Hen. (重音要在Pet)
S: Ben’s Pet Hen. (四次)
T: Do you have pets? Like do you have a dog, or do you have a cat, or do you have a turtle, or do you have a snake?
S: …(學生未能立即應答,老師再問一次 以增加其語用能力)
T: Do you have a pet?
S: No. (學生理解,不能完整回答,只應答單詞)
T: No, I don’t have a pet. (老師教學生說出完整的句子)
T: What is the name of the story?
S: The name of the story is “Ben’s Pet Hen.” (全班一同練習共三次)
(爾後,抽點學生Jacqueline- Ok., Erica – Ok. , Leo—仍究受中文干擾,會一字字說,應視該句為一完整詞組,不能間斷,流利而有節奏地應答。於是,老師再做示範,以手勢點出缺失,指示技巧和句子節奏,全班再跟讀。)
寵物 Introduce Pets
T: Do you have a pet at home?
S: No, I don’t.
T: Who has a pet at home?
S: (Raise their hands.)
T: Jacqueline, what’s your pet?
S: Rabbit. (學生不再重覆老師的話,而是依照所學依實際狀況回答)
T: You have a rabbit.
T: Erica, what’s your pet?
S: Fish.
T: How many fish do you have?
S: Eleven fish. (延伸問題,更換結構,問以學生數量的概念,訓練其語言知識之廣度。)
T: Do you want to cook the fish and eat?
S: No. (全班小朋友笑,感到很有趣,怎麼可能煮來吃呢?)
T: Why? (老師問魚的主人不能煮食的原因?)
S: Because it is small.
(小朋友能馬上回答,並以其童真的想法回應:因為太小而不能吃!)
→全班及老師都笑了!
T: Not small. Because the fish are your pets, you know? Ok? (老師教導生活常識,寵物是不能煮來吃。) T: Who else has a pet at home?
T: Do you like to have a pet?
T: What pet do you like to have?
→持續題目類似問題,以加深學生對寵物的理解和運用
S: A rabbit.( Rita回答 )
T: Michael, do you like to have a pet? (再問學生)
S: No!
T: You little boys and little girls should have pets. Some people like to have pet turtles. Do you know turtles?
(分享人生經驗和觀點:小孩子們應該要有寵物相陪,如有些小孩有烏龜作伴。)
S: Yes, I do.
T: How do you spell turtle?(訓練其聽音拼字之能力)
S: Turtle is spelt tur-tle.
故事主角和內容 Story (Ben’s Pet Hen) + Main characters
T: What pet does Ben have in this book?
S: Ben has a pet hen.
T: Who are the main characters of the story?
S: Ben and Hen.
T: Open your book to read it.
(老師引導學生念並且指示每位學生要念一頁故事書,訓練其閱讀能力。)
P.2 A hen. A pet hen. – Benny: 流利且有語調。
P.3 Ben met the pet hen. – Willam : 讀得像中文,老師糾正,示範並帶讀一次。
P.4 Ben went to get the hen.—Tina : Ben went~~.讀分開是錯誤的,主詞和動詞一定要連著讀。老師糾正 Ben went to get the hen.,先示範正確說法,全班演練後, 第二次就改善了。
P.5 Ben went to get the hen in the net.—Sandy1:錯把Ben went 讀分開,並且整句讀得有如中文(一字字讀即是一拍拍唸),沒有節奏; 老師將該句切分成三個詞組Ben went /to get the hen / in the net.,一個個詞組帶讀一次後,要求全班將讀出整句 (一次讀三個詞組),演練至第二次,就改善許多。
P.6 A pet hen in the net. Ouch ! – Weining:還是有陋習,一字字讀,老師糾正缺失,教導學生讀詞組A pet hen / in the net./ Ouch !,並多加解釋常用字Ouch !的語意,中文是唉約!好痛喔!。
P.7 The pet hen went to get the egg. – Gigi:矯正錯誤,該句有2個詞組The pet hen / went to get the egg.
P.8 The pet hen went to get the red egg in the nest.—Leo:面對較長的句子,學生較難來切分詞組,因而讀不好,老師告訴學生句子的段落,也就是詞組的分布, 3個段落The pet hen / went to get the red egg / in the nest.,依詞組演練學生,使其能讀出語調和節奏;隨後,再抽驗Charlie和Jimmy 確定學生的流利度。
P.9 The pet hen let Ben get wet.— David:老師點出錯誤,並告訴學生此句有兩個詞組The pet hen / let Ben get wet.,再教導學生詞組的正確說法。
P.10 The pet hen let Ben and the egg get wet. Wow!—Leo:老師將此切分成四個詞組The pet hen / let Ben / and the egg / get wet.,依序演練學生。
P.11 A wet pet. A wet net. A wet pet hen. A wet red egg.-- Rita 一開始讀錯重音和節奏,老師馬上指正;隨後,就讀正確了。
P.12 The wet man had a wet net, a wet pet hen and a wed red egg!—Jolin:讀得不錯。
短詩 Chant
T: What do you see on page thirteen?
S: On page thirteen, there is an ABAC four-line rhyme.
(學生在這裡說得不夠好,老師要求他們再重新說得更流利。)
T: What is on page thirteen?
S: On page thirteen, there is an ABAC four-line rhyme. (學生這次說得較流利也自然許多。)
T: Here is a red pen. (學生跟讀,老師講解中文意思:這裡有一支紅色的筆。)
T: I draw an egg. (我畫了一顆蛋。)
T: There is a pet hen. (那裡有一隻寵物雞。)
T: Laying on my bed. (躺在我的床上。)
★在老師的帶領下,學生讀得流利輕快,並因為輔以中文解釋語意,隨著學生對語意的理解,在閱讀時,更增添語調的變化和豐富性。
招生:Short E Story為易讀故事叢書系列的第二本,目的在使學生更加靈活運用拼音規則和聽說技巧,並搭配生動的圖文及有趣的內容,培養學生閱讀興趣;在此,學生可以流利闡述故事的名稱、內容和相關延伸的主題。本文中的主角- Ben有一隻寵物雞,學生也習得談論自己對於寵物的觀點,有的人不想要有寵物, 有的人想要有兔子;有些人有兔子,有些人有魚,老師也分享其生活經驗,建議小朋友可以養寵物作伴;從中,他們學會溝通,學會真正的語言。
